What information will I get from a Property Search?
This search returns a browse list with up to 500 properties that match your search criteria, arranged alphabetically in ascending order.
The browse list includes the following details where available:
- Property Address
- RPD & Zoning Info*
- Title Status
- Owner/s Name
- Owner/s Address
- Area M2
- Date of Valuation
- Value
*RPD & Zoning Info may or may not contain Parish information, depending on whether the land parcel is existing or a new parcel.
What information will I get from a Property Report?
A Property Report contains details about a single property. The property is identified from the criteria entered or selected from the property list. The record contains detailed information including the property description, planning details, valuation dates and the current owner.
Why is my result a Property Report not a browse list?
When only one property matches your search criteria (even when that criteria is very broad) then the details for that property are displayed immediately. You may need to extend your search criteria further to get more results.
What information should I enter as search criteria?
Please take care to enter correct and clear information to ensure that you receive the best possible result for your search. Entering multiple search criteria will reduce search time and produce concise results. However, details such as the owner name should be included only when you are certain they are correct. Unfortunately, it is not possible to do a Property or Sales search using a title reference or corner address as the search criteria.
Can I do a Property Search on a body corporate?
The name of a body corporate can not be used in the Surname/Company Name field as a body corporate is the property manager, not the property owner.
How do I search on a Street, Surname, or Company Name that has non alphabetical characters?
The only non alphabetical character that can be used in a Street, Surname or Company Name field is a hyphen. To search on names that include other characters such as apostrophes, enter the name with a wildcard in place of the character, e.g. O'brien becomes O%brien.
How do I find unusual addresses?
To search for a corner address, enter one Street Name and a wildcard leaving the Street Type field blank. If no results are found, the property may be listed under the other street name and the search should be performed again.
Street Names that include an extra description after the Street Type (eg Long Street East) can be found by entering the first part of the Street name and a wildcard (eg Long%) leaving the Street Type field blank.
Does QVAS use common abbreviations for place names?
Common abbreviations for place names should be considered when selecting from Select Suburbs. Use a wildcard to search on the part of the name that can not be abbreviated. eg. '%Morgan' rather than 'Mount%' or 'Mt%'.
As a general rule, place names will be recorded in full under the Property Address (eg 'Mount Morgan') but abbreviations may appear under the Owner/s Address (eg MT Morgan').
How can I use the Street Number field to maximize my results?
Entering a single number in both fields will search for properties with that exact street number. This option is most useful when searching for a particular address. Entering a number in the first field only will search on properties with a street number above the one entered. Entering numbers in the 'To' and 'From' fields will search for all properties with street numbers between and inclusive of the numbers entered. This option is particularly useful when searching very long streets. The results will include all odd and even numbered addresses within the specified range, that is, properties on both sides of the street.
Is the Zoning Information current and/or comprehensive?
Zoning information is an available search option and is included in the Sales and Property browse list. Please note that the zoning codes are used by the valuation business to assist in the production of valuations and may not be the current zoning of the property. Check with your Local Government for confirmation on planning or zoning information if required.
How current is the information in the QVAS database?
Property data for metropolitan areas is generally updated fortnightly while rural areas are updated monthly.
