Secured Party Groups (SPGs)CITEC Confirm eLearning

Note: The links below will open in a new window.

A Secured Party is a company, individual or other entity that has a security interest in a piece of personal property (collateral). Secured Party Groups (SPGs) are made up of one or more of these secured parties and exist for the sole purpose of registering security interests on the PPSR, as registrations cannot exist unless associated with an SPG.

If you have registered any interests in personal property/collateral on other registers prior to the commencement of the PPSR, these existing registrations will be 'floating' in the PPSR. You will need to find your registered security interest/s and connect them to your SPG.

Please see our PPSR information page for further details.

An SPG is not required to conduct searches on the PPSR. An SPG is required however in order to register security interests, as registrations must be associated with an SPG.
